The Riley Contemporary Art Gallery was set up in 1999 by Martin Riley, who now owns and runs the business in conjunction with Susie Hide. Martin Riley has been involved in the gallery world since 1981. Over the years he has exhibited throughout the UK, America, France, Netherlands, Germany and Dubai and at most major UK Art Fairs. He has always been particularly interested in promoting the work of contemporary painters and sculptors. Many of those he supported during their early careers have since received international critical acclaim, amongst these sculptors Judy Boyt, Mark Coreth, Neil Dalrymple, Geoffrey Dashwood and Priscilla Hann and painters Neil Canning, Terence Lambert and Peter Partington.
As a dealer he has always nurtured young talent, and has discovered a number of gifted artists as immediate Art School graduates. His relationships with many of the gallery's artists date back over twenty years or more.
Susie Hide joined the gallery in 2004. Her fifteen years of project management and business experience bring commercial expertise to the business. The modus operandi of the art world has been turned upside-down by the internet, with a significant proportion of galleries' business being initiated via their web sites. Our own site is updated on a regular basis with details of recent acquisitions and exhibition news. We also publish a range of limited edition prints, please see the Gallery page for full details.
